Scrimfinder Guide – Invid.au

Welcome to the Scrimfinder on Invid.au.

This guide explains how Scrimfinder works, how to find and manage scrims, and how captains can post and confirm matches across Australia and New Zealand.

What is Scrimfinder?

Scrimfinder is a built-in tool that helps competitive teams find, schedule, and manage practice matches (scrims) on the Invid.au platform. It allows teams to connect with suitable opponents, agree on times, track results, and view match details — all in one place.

Scrimfinder Sections

Scrimfinder is split into two main views:

All Scrims

  • Shows all available scrims for the selected game.
  • Ideal for browsing open scrims posted by other teams.

My Scrims

  • Filters scrims to only those involving your team.
  • Useful for tracking your active, accepted, or completed scrims.

Using Filters

You can refine scrims using the available filters:

  • Game
  • Minimum Rank
  • Maximum Rank
  • Status

This helps you quickly find relevant and suitable scrims.

Scrim Statuses Explained

There are five scrim statuses you’ll see throughout Scrimfinder:

  • Open
  • A newly posted scrim looking for an opponent.
  • Accepted
  • Another team has selected a preferred time and is waiting for the creating captain to confirm.
  • Confirmed
  • The match is locked in and ready to play.
  • Completed
  • The scrim has been played and (optionally) scored.
  • Cancelled
  • The scrim did not go ahead or expired.
⚠️ Scrims will automatically cancel if all preferred times pass without confirmation.

Viewing & Interacting With Scrims

When you click into a scrim, you can:

  • View all preferred times posted by the team.
  • See team details and matchup information.

Available Actions

  • Accept Scrim
  • Available if you are a captain of an eligible opposing team.
  • Cancel Scrim
  • Only visible to the creating captain. Scrims can be cancelled at any time before completion.
  • Confirm Scrim
  • Used to finalise a matchup and access the match page.

Match Page & Results

Once a scrim is confirmed, you’ll be taken to the match page, where you can:

  • View player matchups
  • See or enter the final score (optional)

Entering a final score will move the scrim into the Completed status.

Posting a Scrim (Captains Only)

If you’re a team captain, you can post a scrim by selecting Post Scrim.

You’ll be asked to:

  1. Choose the game
  2. Select the team
  3. Set preferred rank ranges
  4. Add preferred times (custom times supported)
  5. Optionally include additional notes

Important Rules

  • All times are shown in ADT
  • Scrims can be posted up to 4 weeks in advance
  • Each team can have up to 3 open scrims per team

Discord Integration

Every scrim posted on Invid.au is automatically announced via the Invid.au Discord bot, keeping teams informed and increasing visibility.
