🎉 What’s New on Invid.au — November 2025 Dev Update

Big improvements, cleaner experiences, and a faster platform — here’s everything we’ve shipped in the last couple of months.

Over the last 6–8 weeks, Invid.au has gone through one of its biggest upgrade cycles yet. From major forum improvements to a complete overhaul of push notifications, match chat, mobile parity, admin tools, security upgrades and more — the platform is faster, cleaner and more powerful than ever.

Let’s jump in. 👇

Smarter Forum Notifications (No More Spam)

We completely reworked forum notifications to avoid spamming users:

  • Grouped notifications (e.g., "3 people replied to your thread")
  • Distinction between direct replies and thread participant activity
  • Watchers only receive a push/email if there is no recent unread notification
  • Expo push notifications integrated with the forum system

Much cleaner. Much smarter.

➕ Quote & Reply Integration

Replying to posts now auto-inserts a clean blockquoted snippet — easier conversations, fewer messy walls of text.

🎮 PUG System Improvements

The PUG/match flow received several fixes and stability upgrades:

🧩 Lobby Reset & Match Flow Stability

  • Fixed the rare bug where a match could revert back to map voting
  • Improved state locking so a lobby can’t “fall backwards” in its lifecycle
  • Better Redis-based recovery after disconnects
  • Improved countdown detection when rejoining a lobby

💬 Match Chat Consistency

Match chat now:

  • Loads correctly when joining mid-match
  • Syncs message history reliably
  • Works on web only at this stage

🎟️ Support Ticketing System

A huge new feature:

  • Users can open support tickets
  • Admins can manage Open / Closed / On Hold
  • Users receive notifications for replies
  • Clean UI built into admin dashboard
  • Email + Push integration

This brings Invid.au much closer to a full service platform.

⚙️ Security, Stability & Infrastructure

🔒 Fixed SSRF Vulnerability in Server Status Endpoint

The /server-status controller now only reads whitelisted community servers and cannot be abused for internal network scanning.

🔍 And a bunch of smaller fixes

  • Realtime lobby list now updates
  • Faster inbox handling
  • Cleaner MySQL queries across some features
  • More efficient DM unread tracking
  • Fixed forum activity merge on profile pages
  • Better admin logging
  • Improved error handling in match and voting controllers

🎯 What’s Coming Next

Here’s what we’re working on next:

  • ✓ Mobile match chat UI
  • ✓ Online status tracking for mobile (Redis presence)
  • ✓ Achievements system (modular, backend-ready)
  • ✓ Team banners + image resizing pipeline
  • ✓ Community server live viewer counts
  • ✓ Full homepage redesign with banners + match feed
  • ✓ Mobile ios and Android APP

Big system upgrades are now done — next up is polish and new player-facing features.
