Invid.au continues to evolve with another platform release focused on making team management easier, improving notifications, and lowering the barrier for players to get into matches faster.
This update introduces a refreshed team management experience, new captain tools, cleaner notification settings, improved game account linking, and new Pickup Game support for Halo CE and Call of Duty 4.
Better Team Management for Captains
Team pages now include a new Manage Team dropdown, giving captains faster access to the actions they need without cluttering the page.
We have also added per-member action menus, making it easier for captains to manage their roster directly from the team page. Captains can now demote other captains where required, helping teams keep leadership roles accurate as rosters change over time.
This update is designed to make team pages feel cleaner, more organised, and easier to manage, especially for active teams competing across ladders, tournaments, and Pickup Games.
Captains Can Now Link Game Accounts for Team Members
One of the bigger improvements in this release is the ability for captains to assign and link game accounts to player profiles.
This is especially important for games where accurate player identity matters for match automation, server integration, stats, and future competitive features.
By allowing captains to help link game accounts, we are reducing the barrier for entry for players who may not have completed every setup step themselves. This should make it easier for teams to get match-ready and reduce admin delays before games go live.
Cleaner Notification Preferences
Notifications now use a simplified, category-based preferences UI.
Rather than forcing users to manage every notification type individually, preferences are now grouped into clearer categories. This makes it easier to control what you receive while keeping important platform updates visible when they matter.
We have also added new PUG-related activity notifications, including match-ready alerts, so players can stay informed when a Pickup Game is ready to begin.
New Pickup Games Launched
Pickup Games are now live with support for:
- Halo CE
- Call of Duty 4
This gives players a faster way to jump into structured matches without needing to wait for a tournament or ladder match. PUGs are a key part of building more regular activity across the platform, giving communities more ways to play, compete, and keep games moving.
With match-ready notifications now supported, players will have a clearer view of when games are ready and what they need to do next.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
This release also includes a handful of fixes and quality improvements across the platform.
Unsubscribe digest preferences now preserve existing notification settings while disabling email as intended. This means users can opt out of email digests without unintentionally resetting other preferences.
Game account linking has also received improved validation and error handling, making the process more reliable and easier to troubleshoot if something goes wrong.
UI Refresh
Team and profile pages have received updated dropdown and menu styling to create a cleaner, more consistent user experience.
These changes help bring the platform closer together visually while making key actions easier to find and use.
What This Means for Players and Teams
This release is about reducing friction.
Captains now have better tools to manage teams, link player accounts, and keep rosters match-ready. Players have clearer notification controls and better alerts for PUG activity. Communities now have more ways to jump into games with new Halo CE and Call of Duty 4 Pickup Game support.
As always, we are continuing to build Invid.au around structured competition, reliable systems, and a better experience for grassroots esports across Australia and New Zealand.
