Development Update — New Features, Improvements & Future Plans

The Invid.au platform continues to grow fast, and this week brings one of our biggest updates yet. We’ve rolled out major quality-of-life improvements, new systems, and new tools designed to boost engagement, tighten security, and prepare the site for even larger community features coming soon.

reCAPTCHA Added to Contact Form

Spam has been creeping into the inbox, so we’ve hardened the Contact Us form with Google reCAPTCHA.

This ensures only genuine users can reach out, reducing noise and keeping support cleaner.

💬 Group Chat Now Live (Web + Mobile App)

You can now create and participate in Group Chats directly on the site.

This includes:

• Group chat creation
• Real-time group messaging
• Full integration with the native mobile app

This is the first stage of expanding social features across the platform.

🏆 Achievements System Launched

The long-awaited Achievements System is now active—complete with the first four unlockable achievements.

Players can start earning progress instantly through gameplay, forum activity, and community contribution.

More achievements are already in planning.

🎙️ Caster Roles – Early Planning Underway

We’ve begun designing a Caster Role system similar to other platforms.

This role will allow approved community casters to:

• Claim matches to cast
• Receive special visibility
• Access caster-specific tools (being designed now)

Community casting is coming to Invid.au soon.

🟢 Online Status System Polished Across the Site

The online/offline presence system has been fully smoothed out so that:

• User states update consistently
• Friend lists sync more reliably
• Lobby & chat presence is now aligned

This fixes the few inconsistencies users noticed over the last month.

🧭 New Forum Layout for Better Engagement

The forums have been redesigned for clarity, readability, and discussion flow.

The updated layout:

• Improves navigation
• Highlights trending & active threads
• Makes categories easier to explore
• Brings a cleaner, modern Invid.au look

Expect more enhancements to roll out soon.

🔔 New Notification Bar & Better Management

Notifications now appear in a clean, consolidated bar, giving you:

• Easier filtering
• Improved read/unread handling
• Better performance
• More intuitive dropdown interactions

This update also lays the foundation for richer notification types.

🤝 New “Friending Center” Introduced

Friend management is now unified into a single place:

• Incoming requests
• Outgoing requests
• Friend list
• Blocking
• User search

Everything is now cleaner, faster, and easier to use.
